You beauties should know by now I am on a never ending journey to find the perfect skin care routine. I know never ending sounds intense but that’s only because I’m a Scorpio and I have serious commitment issues. Add on the fact that I love new things and my issue turns into a massive problem. I use to think that perfect skin just sort of happened, no work is needed. I also believe in fairies and unicorns (please don’t try to tell me otherwise). But in the real world, perfect skin requires good products and daily work.
I recently got a chance to try L’Oreal’s Revitalift™ products from L’Oreal Paris, the Skin Experts as part of a program sponsored by L’Oreal and Condé Nast.
After completing their survey and spilling the deets on my skin care problems and current routine (which kinda doesn’t exist) I was sent Revitalift™ Volume Filler Daily Volumizing Moisturizer and Revitalift™ Volume Filler Daily Volumizing Concentrated Serum.
Both products have hyaluronic acid. Without getting too scientific(y) here (because I am no scientist or claim to know anything about chemistry and whatnot), it’s “a naturally-occurring polysaccharide found in the human body that acts as a cushioning and lubrication agent for our joints, nerves, hair, skin and eyes.” And that’s straight from Google so you know it’s real!
After doing some reading I learned that our ability to produce hyaluronic acid declines with age (thug tears!), which can lead to increased dryness, fine lines, wrinkles and sagging.
What I Noticed 5 Weeks Later
It was not a dramatic, instantaneous result. Using this product required me to commit. I was super annoyed by that but after about a week and using an entire pad of post its as reminders I finally remembered to use these products. About three weeks later, I noticed a difference in my skin.
Out of the two products, the serum was my favorite because I noticed it trapped and locked in the water from my damp skin leaving it uber moisturized. I also noticed that it really plumps my skin. My skin is now this deliciously dewy and pillowy brown color.
Expect more skin care posts because now I am obsessed with finding products that work. It’s more important then ever for me to have a good relationship with my skin. These pop-up zits are not going to be the death of me or my skin!
