I honestly didn’t think that I could pull off hosting my own wellness retreat. #SelfCareIRL retreat happened because you guys believed in me and supported me.
I’m still trying to grasp the idea of actually executing a dream. Like, no for real. Have you ever sat back and said, I actually did it. I was sitting on our balcony at the Hyatt Ziva thinking to myself, I did that. I did it past the fear. Past the uncertainty. And there’s something to be said about what happens when it’s a real tangible thing and no longer just a dream. And I’m not sure if y’all really know that those book-long Instagram captions and quotes are a reminder for me too. Because holy sh*t, I did what I said I was going to do. On October 1st, 2018 I announced this retreat before I had anything planned. All I had was a resort (in mind). What resonates the most with me is that I kept my word to myself.
And this is really the first time that I can remember saying that I was going to do something and following through with it. I can actually see the results of the work I did. In full transparency, I could have worked harder. I could have been more prepared. But for my first go at planning something like this I am SO proud of me!
For the first time when someone says, “I’m proud of you Ty”, I can say, “Me too!”
I would not have been able to make any of this happen without the support of one of my favorite brands. When I approached Palmer’s about partnering they immediately understood my vision and my dreams for our wellness community.
Not many beauty products have lasted throughout the years but Palmer’s has been a staple in our bathrooms for more than 100 years. Our partnership allowed our attendees to enjoy their care packages weeks early. Many of them brought their products and used them throughout the retreat.
The retreat definitely fired me up in a way I cannot describe. But I know I need to do this again and again and again. So here’s to planning next year’s retreat.
