You beauties know I’ve got my favorites when it comes to foundations. But I’m trying to be a better beauty blogger and try all the new new. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation isn’t new new but it’s new to me, and therefore might be new to you.
The new formula of the Ultra HD has a sheer and light feel but still offers a buildable medium to full coverage with an even lighter weight, second-skin texture that looks just like skin. It was developed specifically for the film and TV industry’s most advanced technology. So it’s meant to be invisible under the latest, super-focused 4k lens.
What’s most exciting is that there’s 40 shades with over a dozen of them matching brown skin tones.
“My goal was to cope with the new 4k technology while keeping the main benefits of HD Foundation. Ultra HD Foundation had to meet the perfection needs of pros as well as the everyday needs of all women.”—Dany Sanz, MAKE UP FOR EVER Founder and Creative Director.
I am TV ready hunny!
It definitely sets to a satin matte finish foundation that feels like skin, not like globs of makeup. So if you are looking for a dewy look, this is NOT for you. It’s easy to apply since it’s packaged in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. Unlike some other foundations where the pump is sold separate. It’s super fluid, making it ideal for those who have combination to slightly dry skin like me. If you have oily skin you’ll need a powder or you’ll have to blot more often over the course of the day. It does has a minor amount of fragrance but since you only need two pumps of this foundation it isn’t a bothersome smell.
Buy or nah:
BUY! This is a must-have especially for my fellow on-air personalities and makeup artists. If you are just a beauty junkie it’s still a great foundation to own but be mindful of how much you apply. I found that when I used more than two pumps it began to collect on my pores and created lines on my face and around my nose area. Overall this is a great foundation to add to your faves. You know, if you go on vacation and now you’re foundation doesn’t match. #MyFirstWorldProblems
