Iman-Stick-FoundationWhile on a very much needed spring vacation in Texas last week, out of all the places I could have visited, Wally World was first on the list. After making my luggage and carry-ons TSA friendly, I wanted to scour the Walmart to see what beauty goodies I could find that I couldn’t in my home state of North Carolina.

Low and behold, my eyes darted toward the sleek IMAN Cosmetics store banner. After reading all of the uproar about this affordable, premier makeup line, I had to succumb to my beauty cravings and purchased the $16 foundation. I truly did not need to add to my growing makeup addiction, but hey, your girl was on vacation and wanted to splurge just a little bit.

Since I love an all natural fresh look, I only used the foundation under my eyes, nose and mouth. I simply blended it out with a damp makeup sponge. I’ve found that is the best tool to help blend this product, since it is a bit difficult to blend with your fingers.

Iman-Stick-FoundationBut don’t get this foundation twisted! This potent foundation has full coverage potential for those who need it. In a retractable tube, this foundation is extremely soft and velvet smooth. The great thing about this foundation is that it works for all skin tones from oily, combination, dry and normal. It also dries down to a velvet matte finish–meaning it has no radiance or dewy finish. Even though it is a matte foundation, the jojoba esters and nourishing vitamins inside the foundation are moisturizing for my dry skin.

Overall I will give this product a “B+.” Though this is an awesome product, I was turned off because the foundation is a bit difficult to blend flawlessly. Another turn off would be the fact that I could not find my “perfect” shade, Clay 2 is a bit too beige and Clay 3 was a bit too warm for my skin tone.

Honestly, this would be a product that I would buy again because of its velvet matte finish and nourishing properties.

So do tell beauties, what foundations have you tried lately?

I’ve tried this foundation, and I love it! It’s just really hard to come by in certain areas. I think it fit my complexion pretty nicely (I’m an Earth 7). I do agree it’s not all that blendable with your fingers. The only other foundation I think is better is Makeup Forever’s HD foundation.
