You’re probably wondering, “Black lipstick? Really? It’s well past black lipstick’s time.” Well to me, it’s not. I love wearing my black lipstick, especially since it gives such a stark contrast to the everyday reds and pinks that are a part of every woman’s beauty routine. Black lipstick is normally associated with Halloween or the pre-Halloween occasion, but for anyone who’s like me and loves to wear their black lipstick after that time, I’ve got four fresh ways for you to wear black lipstick with pride.
1. Layer it under a Red or Burgundy
This is probably an easier way to wear this color, since it’s one that won’t freak out your more conservative family members and friends over the holiday season. With a little red or burgundy overlay, it’s super easy to dress up and down, darkening your holiday color and letting you use that black a bit more.
2. Add a Glossy Colored Sparkle
Sparkles!!! Need I really say more? But actually, sparkles are a great way to liven up this dark color for New Year’s Eve parties or a night out with friends. It allows that girly sparkle and shine to come out. For the holidays, metallics are always BIG so if you want to add a bit more sparkle to your already shimmery look, feel free to add some sparkle gloss to your black lipstick.
3. Lip Lining with Black
Lip lining is something that I’ve just gotten into but I love it and it’s so necessary! I love lip lining my reds with black, it makes the entire look very sultry and sexy. Rocking a dark red with black lip lining is a great addition to an all black look, so if you’re headed out in my favorite color, definitely try this slightly-vampy addition to your makeup.
4. Just Wear the Black Lipstick & Rock It
You do you! This lipstick is a great color to wear ANY time of year, so definitely love yourself, be confident and rock that black color hun!
