Now that we’re almost into February, how many of you are already slipping on your New Year’s resolutions? Don’t beat yourself up if you are. We’re here to give you tips on how to keep track of your goals and stay inspired to complete them throughout your 2015. Make this your best year yet!
1. Make a to-do list the day before you have to do them.
You won’t have to rack your brain thinking of what needs to be done when you actually have to do it. Make the list before bed, so it can stay on your mind the next morning.
2. Meditate and reflect when you can.
I don’t do this every single day, but on the days that I do, I feel a difference. Just take 10 minutes out of your day to unplug and look within, even if you have to write it down in a journal. The unloading will make you feel better and prepare you in getting ready for your goals.
3. Read a book!
Seriously, get off of the internet (after you finish reading this, of course), and put your head in a book! Nothing will invigorate you more, even if it’s a goofy YA read. Set aside 30 minutes of reading time, and I assure you will feel inspired. Don’t know what to read? Start here.
4. Clean up.
I personally can’t think when it’s a mess, so the best thing for me to do is clean. Once you have a clean space, you get a clearer mind.
5. Take baby steps.
When you have a goal you want to tackle, you can’t complete everything right of the bat. Break down your goal into smaller, attainable goals. When you take the first step and then the next, you’ll feel like a champ!
6. Think of better times.
Author Srikumar Rao suggests to thinking back to a time when you were on your A-game. How did you get things accomplished? Can you recreate those feelings and apply them to your new task?
7. Reward yourself.
You deserve it! When you reach a goal, no matter how big or small, give yourself a small reward to make you feel motivated to do more.
