While I was in LA, I did a #Scope (aka Periscope) about the beauty products I must have to travel with. It took me over an hour to get through all the things I had in my makeup bag. I realized then, I had a serious problem. When I looked in my makeup bag I saw three foundations, five different blushes, and gosh knows how many lipsticks and glosses. At the time I thought it was ok. But I rewatched my Scope and realized that perhaps I need to condense my makeup bag.
So, on my next trip this is how I will be packing my beauty products to travel with.
Separate your makeup into different categories (eyeshadow, lip color, blush, etc.). Most of beauties don’t own a professional makeup case. So try grouping stuff in a separate clear Ziploc bag. And the great thing is, if something breaks or leaks while you are traveling, the mess is contained and easy to clean up.
2. Essentials Only Please
Have a separate bag for your travel needs and treat it just like your suitcase. If you know you’re not gonna wear that tangerine lipstick then there’s no place for it in your bag. When you plan your looks for the weekend, take an extra five minutes and think about what face you’re gonna give.
There’s nothing like an all-in-one product. Brands are now realizing that we are on-the-go women. So find a product that will serve as your blush, lipstick, and eyeshadow. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour, $26, and Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint, $24 are two of my faves that allow more room in my bag.
