You guys know that I have been partnering with Dove since before my wedding. Dove was the only product I saw in our house growing up. It was all I knew. Now I am wildly obsessed with their spray deodorant. And their dry shampoo gets me through most of my busy traveling weeks. So it’s no surprise that I have also fallen in love with their new Dove DermaSeries line. With Winter lingering on the sidelines (oh hey #ScorpioSzn) I’ve been prepping my skin so that I don’t have another prickly dry season. And since you guys have been spamming me (J/K) with skincare questions I penned a quick update on my Winter skincare routine.
Even though I have my favorites this entire line is BAE! The new DermaSeries line of products is totally hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and formulated to target extremely dry skin. The DermaSeries collection focuses on restoring your skin’s natural lipids to help relieve and heal the dry, inflamed areas and strengthen that damaged barrier. The products are gloriously moisturizing with no filmy residue. My skin felt instantly soothed and softer. But specifically for the winter months ahead of us, Dove DermaSeries is the therapeutic care you need to help your skin glow through all the snow days.
Here’s my new winter skincare routine in 3 steps.
I started with their Gentle Cleansing Face Wash. Because my skin can be ridiculously dry I was doing the double cleansing method. If you’re not familiar it’s using an oil-based cleanser first and then a water-based cleanser. The problem with this method is painfully obvious. It’s one step too many which prolongs your skincare routine. For me, that’s too much of a risk because I will be quick to just not wash my face at all. And that’s a no no at any age.
Their Gentle Cleansing Face Wash has allowed me to enjoy my beauty routine again. It feels more like self-care and less like a chore before bed. It’s also foam and fragrance-free. And while I love a good smell good, fragrances are problematic on your face. I was using the oil cleanser to put some of the moisture back in my skin but the Gentle Cleansing Face Wash helps seal in moisture without greasiness all while improving the quality of your skin over time.
This face cream not only boasts a vitamin E-rich formula that lasts up to 12 hours but also contains SPF 15 to keep sensitive dry skin protected. While it does have SPF in it it doesn’t have that dreadful smell or that white residue. You guys already know I am OBSESSED with products that solve one than one problem at a time. The packaging has a twist locking pump which great for moving from room to room or bag to bag. If I am really dry and peeling I’ll work a little extra on my face and neck right before bed for extra hydration.
When I think of the star of this collection it would be the repairing balm. It’s a highly concentrated petroleum jelly blend. Which means it’s dense and thick. This is for my problematic spots that often get the brunt of the dry skin action: knees, knuckles, elbows, etc. Since it’s also suitable for psoriasis and eczema-prone skin my husband and I have been fighting over this tub. It really soothes his breakouts and gives him instant relief. I just don’t want ashy elbows. As long as you rub it in really good and don’t use too much, it isn’t greasy/oily.
Dry skin can really put me in a bad mood. I don’t wanna do my makeup. I get all lazy and don’t feel pretty. The Dove DermaSeries collection helps you move along on the path to continuously loving the skin you’re in.
